Many of us got a trampoline out in our garden or backyard, but is it fun and is it healthy to jump on one? Would an expensive trampoline like a Berg or North be a better buy than a cheap trampoline or would it be a waste of money?

Let's start out with the fun part.

Is trampoline training a fun sport? If you ask me then the answer is a big yes! However I would guess that 50% of those who have had a trampoline for a year or more would say "sometimes" or "no". We ofte see people buying a trampoline for the kids, and then kids are totally fond if it for a month or two, then it's just something gathering dust out in the garden. Sometimes when they have friend over and then it's fun again for an hour or two, before it goes back to being forgotten. But something that I have noticed is that the better a trampoline you buy, the less of not being used. A friend of mine bought a 1100$ Berg trampoline for his kids 3 years ago, and the Kids still love it and use it everytime the weather is good enough for trampoline jumping. And goes pretty well along with what I hear from other parents who have bought a quality trampoline instead of a cheap one.

So trampoline jumping can indeed be fun, just be sure to invest in a proper model instead of trying to save a bit of money. If you want to save some money on it, consider buying it at some online webshop instead of the local sporting shop. If you train gymnastics or use an Airtrack then it becomes more than just a toy, but an actually piece of training equipment, which makes it even more fun to use.

Is a trampoline safe to use? Another question I often get is - Is it safe to jump on a trampoline, or do my kids end up hurting themself? My answer here would be pretty much the same as before. The more money you spend on the trampoline the better safety. For instance a Berg Elite Champion comes with extra thick paddings on every piece of metal you can land on. This makes it a very safe trampoline to use. It also has a very strong and secure safety net, a ladder you can use to climb onto it and high quality parts so that it doesn't break after a few years outdoor. If you save some money and buy a cheap trampoline, you will like have thin paddings, a trampoline that risk breaking and causing an accident when you use it. I have seen this happend with a 200$ model that was a year old. So if you care about safely, do consider the Berg Elite series, or at least the Berg Champion which has a little bit less safety features, but still a lot more than most other brands. This is also one of the reasons I really like recommend a Berg trampoline over other brands. Even many of the famous and expensive brands, don't quite have the same safety features as a Berg model. I often buy from the online webshop in Aalborg, as they have great prices there.

If you want to have even more fun with your trampoline I would recommend taking up gymnastics. It's a fun sport by itself, but it becomes so much more fun when you combine it with trampoline training. And if you want to take it all to a whole new level, consider getting an Airtrack. I got both an Airtrack and a Berg trampoline, and while I normally prefer my trampoline there are days when I find the Airtrack more fun. So it's great to have something to switch between - depending on what you are in the mood for.

If you decide to buy your trampoline from an online webshop, there are some things you should consider checking out in order to make sure it's a real webshop and not some fake online shop. I found this guide yesterday about how to spot a fake webshop and what you should look out for - http://txti.es/sport-fitnessequipment-webshop

That was all I had to share for now. My next guide will be about how you can get the most out of your trampoline, and which jumps are the most fun to do on it. Heck, maybe I'll even through up a video or two so you can see some of the many things you can do on trampolines. With more than 8 years of gymnastic experience I have learn a jump or two. So for me it just makes it so much more fun to jump on trampolines and Airtracks compared to a normal gymnastic mat. Thanks again for dropping by, hope to see you back here soon.
