Daniel is a co-founder and senior reporter at CORRECT!V, Germany's first non-profit investigative newsroom. He is working on investigations related to sports, health, justice and freedom of information. Daniel is also involved in further developing CORRECT!V and organizes the work of other reporters. He teaches how to be an investigative journalist and how to use freedom of information laws.
From August 2013 to May 2014 Daniel was a fellow at the Toni Stabile Center for Investigative Journalism and a scholar at the Brown Institute for Media Innovation. Both are part of Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism in New York City. In May 2014 Daniel graduated with a Master of Science degree.
Before going to New York Daniel worked as a reporter for the investigative unit of the biggest regional paper in Germany, Funke Media Group. Daniel worked there from 2010 to 2013.

Daniel has been a freelancer since 2001 and did multimedia reporting for national German media since 2008.
His reporting appeared amongst others in: Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung, Deutschlandfunk and Deutschlandradio Kultur, DIE ZEIT and Zeit-Online, ARD Sportschau and WDR Sport Inside, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, journalist, ZDFonline, Spiegel Online, Welt am Sonntag, Frankfurter Rundschau, Berliner Zeitung, triathlon and different regional media.
Daniel has a diploma in journalism and sports from the University in Dortmund. He graduated in 2013. Daniel did his editorial traineeship at the regional paper Main-Post in Würzburg.
He talked and taught at several universities and events.
From 2010 to 2012 Daniel worked for the "Initiative Nachrichtenaufklärung", the German "Project Censored".
